Legal draft

Cookie Policy

Last updated October 6, 2026. This draft describes cookies and similar technologies used by the current IFN website.

Current first-party use

Apart from Google Analytics, described below, the IFN website does not set or read cookies. It uses your browser’s local storage for two features you control: Continue watching, which remembers where you stopped in a film, and My List, the films you save for later. That information stays on your device and is never sent to IFN; clearing this website’s data in your browser erases it. During a screening, the Watch page also keeps a random code in the browser tab’s session storage, so the “watching now” count does not count you twice when you reload; your browser erases it when you close the tab, and the Privacy Policy describes it. The website uses Vercel Web Analytics, a cookie-free service that counts page views and anonymous interactions without identifying individual visitors; the Privacy Policy describes what it records. The website does not run advertising trackers, and you can block analytics cookies in your browser settings. IFN also uses Google Analytics 4, which sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID, kept for up to two years) to count visits and returning visitors, and records similar page and interaction information. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses, and its advertising features and Google signals are switched off. You can block these cookies in your browser or opt out with Google’s add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Third-party technologies

The website is hosted by Vercel, loads the HLS playback library from jsDelivr, and requests video from Bunny.net when a video is played. Those providers may use cookies, logs, or similar technologies on their own services to deliver, protect, or measure their services. IFN does not control those technologies. Their use is subject to each provider’s own privacy and cookie notices.

Managing cookies

You can use your browser settings to review, block, or delete cookies. Blocking third-party technologies may affect playback or other linked services. Browser controls do not prevent a provider from processing technical request information that is necessary to deliver a requested resource.

Changes and contact

If IFN adds advertising, embedded media, or other cookie-based features, this policy will be updated to reflect the change and any consent choices required by law. Questions may be sent to info@theindiefilmnetwork.com.
